ANOKA, MINN. –
Donors to the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation (AHEF) recently funded $24,744 in the first round of grant funds for school projects and students for the 2025-26 school year. These funds are in addition to the $24,000 in perennial grants that AHEF funds each year, and a second round of grant funds that will be awarded in Fall 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. AHEF donors will also fund $20,000 in scholarships this Spring for students pursuing post-secondary education.
Through AHEF, donors in the 2025-26 school year will fund an Early Childhood Family Education parenting book club, literacy games for students to bring home and continue to build their skills, and hands-on engineering experiences for middle school students. This year, AHEF donors are also funding $1,000 for each high school’s Outdoor Adventures programs to expand access for all students. A full list of the 22 grants awarded is listed here.
“Our donors make these grants possible,” said DeGeest, “Thank you to everyone: teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and community partners, for making these experiences possible for our students.”
The next round of grants for the 2025-26 school year will open in August. For more information on AHEF grants go to www.ahef.us or email Tess.degeest@ahschools.us.
