ANOKA, MINN. –
Donors to the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation (AHEF) recently funded $43,288 in the second round of grants for school projects and students for the 2025-26 school year. This is in addition to the first round of grants totaling 24,744. These funds are in addition to the $29,000 in perennial grants that AHEF funds each year, and a second round of grant funds that will be awarded in Fall 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. AHEF donors will also fund $20,000 in scholarships this Spring for students pursuing post-secondary education, for a combined impact of over $117,000 this year.
Through AHEF, donors in the 2025-26 school year will fund vocational opportunities for students in the Two Rivers Transition Program, math games for students to improve math fluency, and a pilot HOSA student run health fair designed specifically for their peers.
This year, AHEF donors began funding the first of a three-year commitment to give $1,000 to each of our five high school’s Outdoor Adventures programs to expand access for more students. “By committing to three years of funding for each program, our goal is to help the schools with newer programs secure the necessary equipment. For our more established programs, the funds can be used to expand or replace older equipment.
“The combined impact of our donors’ generosity is significant. Our donors make these grants possible,” said DeGeest, “Thank you to everyone: teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and community partners, for making these experiences possible for our students.”
The first round of grants for the 2026-27 school year will open in December 2025. For more information on AHEF grants go to www.ahef.us or email Tess.degeest@ahschools.us.
